Which unit fits your project?
Local IPTV headend (DVB to IP gateway): receives television services from satellite and converts them to IP without changing bit rate or format. On IPTV systems running over a local network (LAN) without bandwidth limits it is used on its own.
Internet TV headend: for IPTV delivered over the internet, where bandwidth is limited, a transcoder is added to the gateway; it changes the format, bit rate and encoding of the services as required.

Frequently asked questions about IPTV headends
What is the difference between a DVB to IP gateway and a transcoder?
A gateway converts the service to IP without changing bit rate or format, which is sufficient for IPTV on a local network. A transcoder changes format, bit rate and encoding, which is needed for delivery over the internet where bandwidth is limited.
What is the difference between IGS-900 and IGS-900A, and between IGS-924 and IGS-924A?
The tuner count is the same (16 and 24 DVB-S/S2/S2X). The standard models offer selectable SPTS or MPTS output. The A models add Dynamic PMT and EPG/EIT demultiplexing but use a different output profile: up to 128 SPTS in total (64 per DATA port) and no MPTS IP output. Which model decrypts encrypted services?
The IGS-700/84 has 2×2 CI slots for CI modules and embedded BISS / BISS-E decryption. The IGS-8008, IGS-900, IGS-900A, IGS-924 and IGS-924A have no CI/CAM slots; they offer BISS descrambling.
Which models support the SRT protocol?
According to the manufacturer’s published information the IGS-8008 (among its output protocols), the BTR-6000V and the BIG-1050X / BIG-1100X. The output protocols of the IGS-900, IGS-900A, IGS-924 and IGS-924A are UDP, RTP and RTSP.
