Cat6 or Cat6A?
Cat6 cables are sufficient for most 1 Gbit/s applications. Choose Cat6A where 10 Gbit/s is needed over 100 m. Cat6A cables for PROFINET are on our Belden PROFINET page.
Bonded-Pair technology
In Belden’s patented Bonded-Pair construction the two conductors of each pair are bonded together, so pair geometry and performance are maintained when the cable is pulled and bent.
Marine, mining and outside-plant types
The ABS-approved MarineTuff series for ships and offshore; mining (MSHA) approved 7953A; gel-filled 7967A, IEA008 and IEA009 for outside plant and burial.
Armoured versions of Belden Cat6 cables
Many of the cables on this page are also available with factory-applied armour. Armour protects the cable against crushing and impact and allows installation without conduit. Each armoured code is shown with its unarmoured base code. The list for all networks is on Belden Armored Data Cable.

Frequently asked questions about Cat6 industrial Ethernet cable
What is the difference between industrial Cat6 cable and standard Cat6 cable?
Industrial cable has a more durable jacket, oil and sunlight resistance and a wider temperature range. Office-grade cable can fail early on the factory floor.
Should I choose shielded or unshielded?
Shielded near noise sources such as drives, motors and welding equipment; unshielded is sufficient on lines with low noise.
Which Cat6 cable is used outdoors?
CMX-Outdoor rated types (for example 7940A, 7945A). Gel-filled 7967A for burial or outside-plant runs.
Should I buy Cat6 instead of Cat5e?
For new plants, Cat6 or Cat6A is the safer choice for the future. For existing 100 Mbit/s and 1 Gbit/s lines, Belden Cat5e industrial Ethernet cable is also sufficient.
Do I have to buy a full reel?
No. We supply cut lengths. The part number and the total length are enough.
