What is the difference between an IP decoder and a set-top box?
An IP decoder is a professional device that continuously turns an IP stream into HDMI, SDI or CVBS output; it is used for video walls, studios and headends. A set-top box is the room device on which the viewer selects channels with a remote control, working with middleware.
Which models support the SRT protocol?
According to the manufacturer’s published information the HDD-275 / HDD-275H, the HDD-276 and the 6800+ set-top box.
Which model where an SDI output is needed?
For an IP stream the HDD-275 (with HD-SDI output); for an ASI or IP stream the IGS-2000 / IGS-4000 / IGS-6000; for DVB services the IRD-6310, IRD-6300, IRD-4000 and IRD-7000 with HD/SD-SDI output.
