Frequently asked questions about modulators
What is the difference between a modulator and a transmodulator?
A modulator turns a source arriving as HDMI, SDI, ASI or IP into a DVB carrier. A transmodulator converts the DVB-S/S2 carrier from the satellite directly to DVB-C.
What is Edge QAM?
A modulator that multiplexes SPTS or MPTS streams arriving over IP and delivers them as DVB-C (QAM) carriers; it joins an IPTV backbone to cable TV distribution. The HDC-5004 delivers 4 carriers, the HDC-5016 / 32 / 48 / 64 series from 16 to 64.
How do I add a camera or information channel to an SMATV system?
Connect the source with HDMI output to the HDM-9500 or HDM-9400; the device encodes the signal and delivers it to the network as a DVB-C or DVB-T channel.
I do not know the model code. How do I get a quotation?
Send the number of transponders and channels, whether any services are encrypted and the destination of the streams; we will suggest the model.
